Position: Sr. Manager, PM - Business Operations and Optimization, Worldwide Ergonomics and Safety Experience
The Worldwide Ergonomics and Safety Experience (WESE) team is looking for a Senior Program Manager to be the single-threaded owner of operational strategy and program management for a portfolio of safety programs that directly reduce musculoskeletal disorders and drives cultural safety change across hundreds of Amazon fulfillment sites. This is a high-visibility role responsible for defining the multi-year roadmap, driving measurable efficiency gains, and delivering results that scale.

You will own the operating model for how WESE plans, funds, deploys, and measures its highest-priority initiatives. This means partnering with technical SME teams as they identify operational problems and scope solutions (both near-term and long-term). You will lead a team responsible for establishing the PM plan to deploy structural projects end-to-end, document efficiencies and benefits in cost, speed, and quality.

You will partner with Directors, VPs, and cross-functional leaders across Operations, Finance, Engineering, and Tech to indirectly influence resources, drive prioritization, and deliver complex programs on time.

The ideal candidate is a high-performing Amazonian with a proven track record of identifying and solving operational problems  lead a team of Program Managers accountable for program delivery velocity, Capital Appropriation Request (CAR) quality, financial performance, precise narrative business reviews, and driving cross-team progress against established goals. You self-identify areas of opportunity, present solutions to leadership, and drive execution with a close lens on quantitative results and operational outcomes.

Key job responsibilities

Business Operations
• Be the single-threaded owner responsible for defining and documenting the operational strategy for WESE program delivery and the initiatives required to uphold that strategy
• Self-identify problem statements and areas of opportunity; present these to leadership and business stakeholders with clear scope, trade-offs, and proposed solutions
• Drive strategic initiatives to continuously improve deployment velocity, cost efficiency, and quality across the portfolio
• Deploy structural projects end-to-end that deliver measurable benefits in speed, cost, and injury reduction outcomes
• Define and execute multi-year program plans (OP1/OP2) with clear milestones, resource requirements, and success metrics

People Leadership & Team Performance
• Lead and develop a team of Program Managers; set clear expectations for delivery velocity, financial rigor, and CAR quality
• Hold the team accountable to outcomes. Inspect progress against commitments, coach on root cause analysis, and raise the performance bar
• Recruit, hire, and retain top-tier PM talent. Deliver career development through stretch assignments, structured feedback, and increasing scope
• Build organizational capability through mechanisms, standard work, and repeatable processes that scale output without linear headcount growth

Financial Performance & Resource Optimization
• Own project financial management across the WESE portfolio:
Cap Ex/OpEx forecasting, budget adherence, variance analysis, and investment justification
• Ensure CARs meet a high quality bar, clearly tying capital requests to measurable business outcomes and cost-efficiency gains
• Partner with Finance to optimize resource allocation, identify cost-reduction opportunities, and make investment trade-off recommendations to leadership
• Create metrics and mechanisms to drive both operational and financial improvements; distinguish between important and urgent
