Travel RN - Neonatal ICU

American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a NICU position requiring 3+ years of NICU experience and a WA or compact RN license.

Requirements

• Active WA or compact RN license required
• BLS and NRP certifications required
• Minimum 3 years of NICU experience required
• EPIC charting experience preferred
• Willingness to float within the hospital required

Responsibilities

• Work in the NICU III/IV level unit of a hospital setting
• Cares for neonates as young as 24-28 weeks gestation
• Patient ratio of 1:3
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours from 18:45 to 07:15
• Floating to Childbirth Center units required based on patient care needs
• Performs dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Manages feedings including bottle, breast, and gavage methods
• Places and manages oral, nasogastric, and nasojejunal tubes
• Implements isolation precautions and PPE for infectious disease control
• Manages IV therapy, arterial lines, central/implanted lines, UAC, and UVC
• Administers IV vasopressors, surfactants, and steroids
• Cares for patients with Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome
• Manages ventilators including AC/PC/SIMV/CPAP/BIPAP/PEEP modes
• Provides comprehensive neonatal intensive care for critically ill and premature infants
• Facility-required orientation modules must be completed and signed off by managers
• Maximum of 5 days RTO permitted per assignment, with no blocked schedules accepted
• All RTO requests must be disclosed at time of consideration and cannot be modified afterward
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate as non-local candidates
• Travel pairs accepted
• Former staff must be separated from the facility/system for at least 1 year before being considered for a travel assignment
