Lead Sommelier – Ascend Prime Steak & Sushi

Ascend Prime Steak & Sushi is seeking an exceptional Lead Sommelier to curate and elevate one of the Pacific Northwest’s most distinguished wine programs. Perched above downtown Bellevue with sweeping skyline views, Ascend is known for its refined service, world‑class cuisine, and an uncompromising commitment to excellence. This is a full‑time position.

Rate

$18 – $20 per hour based on experience + tips

Requirements
  • Perform all duties and responsibilities to achieve overall success of the operation.
  • Represent the company in a professional and exemplary manner and promote the success of the restaurant to guests, staff and any other parties.
  • Lead wine floor service and ensure junior sommeliers and the service team engage guests in a manner congruent with brand standards.
  • Assist with training employees on their wine & sake knowledge in accordance with company standards and help create, initiate and lead an ongoing staff wine and sake education and training program.
  • Assist with beverage list maintenance and accuracy.
  • Assist with wine inventory, keep wine par levels, and update beverage menus.
  • Work to ensure wine inventory for private events and maintain/update private dining wine pars.
  • Assist with receiving and restocking deliveries, delivery accuracy, and updating out‑of‑stock items.
  • Maintain wine storage accuracy, cleanliness, and ensure wine storage is in excellent repair.
  • Work to minimize costs, maximize guest perceptions, and maximize profitability for ownership.
  • Possess an advanced knowledge of the food and beverage offerings, including ingredients, allergens, dietary limitations, daily specials, and the restaurant concepts overview.
