• Prepare finished products—sandwiches, salads, soups, cookies, ice cream—efficiently per recipe manual.
• Maintain food safety, cleanliness, and shop security standards and wear a clean uniform.
• Be speedy and accurate in fulfilling orders and handle raw/finished waste per procedures.
• Engage customers with friendly conversation, handle complaints, and deliver a quality, consistent experience in a clean, inviting environment.
• Restock food line, chips and cooler; work multiple stations (load, dress, shakes, cash, prep, front) as directed.
• Operate cash register, balance cash, and follow all cash handling procedures.
• Deliver catering orders and take delivery/catering/pickup orders over the phone.
• Others duties as assigned.

• Stand/walk minimum 3 hours or as needed; lift up to 10 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
• Work in warm and cool environments, indoors 95% and outdoors 5%.
Tolerate higher levels of noise and potential allergens (peanut products, egg, dairy, gluten, soy, seafood, shellfish).

• At least 16 years of age; for Illinois employees, food safety certified within 30 days of employment.
• Friendly, customer‑service oriented with strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment, demonstrate urgency, and function well as a team player.
• Neat hygiene, confident knife handling, and capability to reconcile cash accurately.
• Demonstrate leadership behaviors that align with Potbelly’s values.
