Essential Duties And Expectations
  • Will support a caseload of clients qualifying for Vocational and Community Inclusion services.
  • Assist employers in identifying, setting up and facilitating jobs for clients when needed.
  • Identify clients' job interests and provide job coaching and career development support to improve job skills.
  • Promote social integration between clients and other employees in collaboration with supervisors/managers.
  • Provide personal and career counseling as well as behavioral intervention to enhance job performance and relationships with co-workers and customers.
  • Maintain excellent communication with managers, supervisors and employees to support positive outcomes and resolve client performance issues.
  • Teach work skills at job sites using simple and repetitious training methods.
  • Monitor client activity to ensure productivity, completion of tasks, and quality outcomes.
  • Regularly report to the Vocational Services Program Manager and Director about client progress and training concerns.
  • Communicate with program leadership, care providers and parents regarding issues affecting client employment.
  • Attend client PCSP team meetings when directed.
  • Become familiar with client needs and limitations to ensure appropriate accommodations and supervision.
  • Notify supervisors immediately of any problems with clients or employers to resolve issues promptly.
  • Collaborate with supervisors and job site managers to prepare daily/weekly job duties for clients.
  • Document client activities, progress and support; this is required to be emailed weekly.
  • Promote employment services in compliance with agency philosophy, policies and procedures and in accordance with licensing laws and regulations.
  • Emphasize good work ethics and appropriate performance in employment.
  • Be a positive role model for clients at all times.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Driver's License (Required)
  • Insured and Reliable Vehicle (Required)
  • US Work Authorization
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
Experience
  • No prior experience as an Employment Specialist required; you will be fully trained after hiring.
  • Experience working with adults with disabilities is preferred but not required; we seek compassionate, caring people who can support our clients in a rewarding career.
  • Initial training in the office followed by community training with experienced staff.
  • Occasional attendance at meetings at the office may be required.
Work Location

This is a community-based position. Your working location will vary based on client needs. You will be issued a company laptop and mileage reimbursement to assist in client support. This is not a remote position; office space is available when not with clients in the field.
