Job Summary:

Valve is an American entertainment software and tech company developing video games and other related technologies. They are seeking an Audio Software Engineer to push the boundaries of audio tools and technologies for video games and VR.

Responsibilities:

• Work on extending spatial audio technology, Steam Audio, to enhance game and VR audio development processes.

• Broaden the range of audio experiences that developers can deliver in games and VR.

• Collaborate with game teams to engineer audio tools that enhance creative storytelling techniques.

• Deliver enjoyable audio experiences to millions of customers worldwide.

• Collaborate with a team of broadly-skilled peers to integrate audio effectively into all current and future Valve products.

Qualifications:

Required:

• Experience in audio programming for games or interactive applications

• Proficiency in C++

• Experience with digital signal processing

• Strong mathematical skills

• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment

Preferred:

• Experience with spatial audio technologies

• Experience with audio middleware such as Wwise or FMOD

• Experience with game development

• Passion for audio and sound design
