In the Unity Platform group, we make sure the Unity Engine and Editor are on every major platform where our users want to go and where real‑time content is needed.

To help achieve this mission we are looking for an experienced manager to lead the XR Devices engineering team. The XR Devices team works closely with our platform and device partners to build and maintain Unity’s support for the latest cutting edge devices from Head Mounted Displays to Augmented Reality glasses.

This role is a combination of technical leadership and people management. The right person will attract, develop and retain high quality engineering talent from new college graduates to tenured, senior engineers. • Own and drive the near‑term execution and technical strategy for the team
• Collaborate internally with other core Unity engineering and graphics teams
• Communicate your team’s vision and progress internally and externally
• Support the members of your engineering team as they advance in their career goals

• Experience developing and managing a high‑performance software engineering team
• Proven technical knowledge and experience working with AR/VR/XR platforms
• Demonstrated success in collaborating with external partners to achieve alignment on technical specifications and interdependencies
• Expertise as a software engineer, and a working familiarity with C++ and C#
• Ability to assimilate and understand a large and complex software product

• Understanding of the OpenXR standard, or a track record of working with open standards
• Familiarity with real time 3D rendering techniques and graphics APIs including Vulkan
• A passion for the future of computer games or real‑time 3D experiences in a variety of settings
• Expertise leading using Agile development methodologies
• Experience leading distributed teams
