The Bellevue Club Aquatics Department is seeking a qualified full-time Lifeguard Supervisor to join our team. This position assists in leading the Aquatics staff; day, evening and weekend Aquatics programs and the Aquatics facility in the absence of the Aquatics Director and/or Aquatics Coordinator. Also, manages and supervises pool operations in areas of life guarding, safety and training.

Responsibilities
  • Responds to emergency situations throughout the Club that may require a trained, certified First Responder. Performs CPR and First Aid as needed. Utilizes the Automated External Defibrillator (AED) as necessary.
  • Ensures the safety of the pool patrons through strict compliance with county and state health and safety standards.
  • Recruits, trains, schedules and supervises the lifeguarding staff.
  • Supervises the evening and weekend Aquatics staff. Oversees all Aquatics operations in the absence of the Aquatics Director & Aquatics Manager.
  • Reviews Aquatics department policies and procedures with new employees and trains them on various departmental duties.
  • Coordinates the Aquatics safety program. Organizes and updates all safety education materials and presents material to the Aquatics staff during scheduled safety classes conducted by the Safety Training Coordinator. Ensures all Aquatics employees have proper and current certifications and are well versed in all safety aspects of pool lifeguarding. Administers water safety tests to all prospective Aquatics employees.
  • Prepares the lifeguarding schedule and will perform lifeguarding duties as needed.
  • Assists in input of all Aquatics classes into the Bellevue Club reservation system.
  • Bills all private swimming lessons in a timely manner. Assists with other Aquatics billing as needed.
  • Ensures all pool patrons are aware of the posted rules of conduct for the pool, diving boards and spa, and that they abide by the rules as written. Reinforces rules as necessary during lessons and verbally explains rules to pool patrons unable to understand the posted signs.
  • Performs various office administration tasks, answers the pool telephone, answers swim lesson and swim team inquiries, performs miscellaneous filing, etc. Refers callers and visitors to the Aquatics Director as needed. Tabulates pool attendance records. Records the traffic flow of pool patrons and Club employees and reports these statistics to the Aquatics Director for planning and budgeting purposes.
  • Performs various pool area custodial duties. Monitors the chemical content of the pool and spa and logs these readings in the pool chemistry log book. Responds to variations in pool chemistry readings and makes necessary adjustments to ensure proper chemical balance in the pool and spa.
Requirements
  • Minimum 1 year of lifeguard experience. 2 - 3 years experience preferred.
  • American Red Cross (ARC) Lifeguard Training (includes CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer and Standard First Aid).
  • LGT & LGTI (Lifeguard Training & Lifeguard Training Instructor)
  • WSI (Water Safety Instructor)
  • CPRfPR (CPR for the Professional Rescuer)
  • Swim Coaches Safety Training and First Aid Instructor
  • Pool operator’s certification
  • Current Automated External Defibrillator (AED) certification
  • Associate degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or four to six years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Schedule
  • Ideal schedule:
    Fridays 12:00 PM – 10:00 PM;
    Saturdays 10:00 AM – 8:00 PM;
    Sundays 10:00 AM – 8:00 PM;
    Mondays 12:00 PM – 10:00 PM
