Full Charge Bookkeeper

Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Full Charge Bookkeeper to support a Contract assignment in Bellingham, Washington. This role focuses on restoring accuracy to day-to-day accounting activity, resolving backlogged transactions, and strengthening core bookkeeping processes. The ideal candidate brings strong full-charge bookkeeping experience and can work independently across payables, receivables, reconciliations, and general ledger tasks. This position offers an opportunity to help establish dependable financial records that support timely and accurate reporting.

Responsibilities:

- Address overdue accounts payable items and clear accounting backlogs to improve the accuracy of financial records

- Review, code, and process vendor invoices while ensuring payments are completed correctly and on schedule

- Perform reconciliations for bank accounts, credit cards, and general ledger balances to identify and correct variances

- Investigate accounting discrepancies and take appropriate action to resolve missing, unmatched, or inaccurate entries

- Provide support for accounts receivable activities, including applying incoming cash and assisting with related transactions

- Prepare, review, and record journal entries to maintain complete and organized books

- Maintain bookkeeping records and supporting documentation in a structured manner for auditability and reporting

- Contribute to month-end closing activities and help bring financial data up to date

- Clean up accounting transactions related to activity in SAP Business One following prior Quick Books conversion work

- Assist with a broad range of accounting tasks as priorities shift and urgent needs arise Requirements - At least 3 years of experience in full-charge bookkeeping or a closely related accounting role

- Demonstrated hands-on experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance

- Prior success handling accounting cleanup, catch-up work, or backlog reduction in an active business environment

- Ability to work independently, organize competing priorities, and make progress in situations with incomplete or messy records

- Proficiency with Quick Books and confidence using accounting software in daily bookkeeping operations

- Experience with SAP Business One is strongly preferred

- Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and problem-solving ability

- Adaptable approach with willingness to support multiple accounting functions based on business needs
