About the DepartmentOur department offers majors in Chinese, French, German, Japanese, Spanish, and Latin American Studies, and minors in Classical Studies, Greek, Latin, and Russian. Faculty also participate in interdisciplinary programs such as Canadian‑American Studies, East Asian Studies, the Honors Program, Latin American Studies, and the Linguistics Department.
About the PositionThe department, college, and university value teaching, and we expect you to be an excellent teacher who is current in your discipline, engages students actively in learning through discussion, writing, and analysis, and maintains high standards for course content. You will provide feedback on coursework and examinations, hold regular office hours, and submit course evaluations each semester. You must use the university’s standard evaluation form or a provost‑approved alternative.
Required Qualifications- MA in the target language or a related field
- Demonstrated potential for successful teaching
- Demonstrated ability and commitment to cultivating equitable and inclusive learning environments for diverse students
- PhD in the target language or a related field
- Demonstrated successful teaching ability
- Experience working with diverse students and staff

SalaryCommensurate with experience and qualifications.
