About the Department

The College of Science and Engineering and the Biology Department support Western's mission to make a positive impact in the state and the world with a focus on academic excellence and inclusive achievement. About the Position

The Biology Department maintains a vacancy pool of qualified persons interested in temporary teaching positions. Applications are accepted continuously for temporary, non-tenure track, teaching positions on a part-time basis, with rare opportunities for temporary, full-time appointments. Positions may become available at any time and are typically filled on a quarterly basis.

Responsibilities

Teach courses as needed in the Biology Department. The vacancy pool is used for possible openings throughout the academic year and during summer sessions.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • MS in Biological Sciences or related field; OR, for select courses, a BS in Biology and exemplary industry experience.
  • Successful teaching experience
  • Demonstrated commitment to cultivating learning environments that are equitable and inclusive of students with diverse social identities and backgrounds

Preferred Qualifications

  • PhD in Biological Sciences or related field
Conditions of Employment
