Overview
Geosyntec Consultants, an earth science and engineering consulting firm, is seeking a Mid-Career Environmental Remediation Engineer to join our Environmental Practice in our Seattle, Bellingham, Wenatchee, Yakima, or Bainbridge Island, WA office.
Our Environmental Practice tackles challenges on a variety of complex environmental projects throughout the Pacific Northwest including environmental site assessments, remedial investigations/feasibility studies, property cleanup and urban redevelopments, remedial design engineering, cost recovery/allocation/mediation support, and landfill system monitoring and optimization.

As a Mid-Career Environmental Remediation Engineer at Geosyntec, your work will consist primarily of office work focusing on technical project delivery and environmental project management of environmental investigation and remediation projects. You will lead the design and implementation of environmental due diligence, remedial investigations, and cleanup actions on known or suspected contaminated sites. Additionally, you will work collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team of geologists, environmental engineers, and scientists to expand core skills and learn how to effectively apply environmental consulting strategies and solutions for our clients, who include attorneys, landowners, public agencies, engineers, and contractors.

- Work collaboratively with colleagues, clients, and partners to plan and execute work on a variety of environmental investigation and remediation projects
- Perform task, project, and client management under the guidance of senior technical experts
- Manage project teams that can include junior field staff, writing and editing staff, technical subject matter experts, and subcontractors to meet project needs
- Conduct project scoping and budgeting and manage project budget and schedule
- Apply technical expertise gained in your field of study to environmental project problem solving to meet client needs and project objectives
- Complete technical data evaluation and write reports
- Drive personal, company, and rental vehicles to client or company project or office sites, and other business locations, as needed
- Bachelor’s degree in environmental engineering, or related engineering discipline; (required)
- Master’s degree in environmental engineering, or related engineering discipline; (preferred)
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) Certification (required) or Licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE) (preferred)
- At least 5 years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience (required)
- Relevant coursework or experience in contaminant fate and transport
- Knowledge of state and federal cleanup laws, regulations, and regulatory guidance for cleanup of contaminated sites
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills
- Clear and professional writing and verbal communication skills
- Excellent client management skills
- Ability to work on teams and interface with clients, attorneys, and regulators to execute projects
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel (required)
This opportunity will be posted for at least five days. Compensation ranges (for roles in the specified locations) are provided as a rough guide and may vary with education, experience, skill set, and location.
- Minimum Salary: $85,340/year / Maximum Salary: $110,940/year (Wenatchee, Yakima)
- Minimum Salary: $89,605/year / Maximum Salary: $116,485/year (Bellingham)
- Minimum Salary: $93,875/year / Maximum Salary: $122,040/year (Bainbridge Island, Seattle)
