Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineer
Western Washington University is seeking an engineer to perform engineering assignments in support of the centralized Energy Management Center and all associated mechanical & electrical components throughout the University system.
The successful candidate will have a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or four years of college level coursework in related engineering studies, or seven years of progressively more responsible and complex HVAC engineering work. They will also have knowledge of ASHRAE and IAQ standards for ventilation and mechanical systems, and documented experience with Siemens Apogee Building Automation Control Systems (BACS).
Responsibilities will include system controls, system maintenance, system design, and recordkeeping. The ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal skills, the ability to work independently with little supervision, and the ability to manage time well and work under pressure situations with tight schedules and deadlines.
Required Qualifications- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or four years of college level coursework in related engineering studies or seven years of progressively more responsible and complex HVAC engineering work.
- Knowledge of ASHRAE and IAQ standards for ventilation and mechanical systems.
- Documented experience with Siemens Apogee Building Automation Control Systems (BACS).
- Proficiency with SQL Database applications, MS Word, Access, Excel, Windows, or latest current version of operating system or equivalent.
- Valid driver’s license or the ability to obtain one prior to starting work.
- Technical accuracy and recordkeeping skills.
- Ability to work well with diverse populations.
- Knowledge of Washington Industrial Safety and Health Act (WISHA), Occupational Safety and Health Agency (OSHA) rules and regulations and standard job safety rules.
- Knowledge of IBC, IPC, NFPA and NEC.
- Strong communication skills, including written, visual graphics, and verbal.
