Job Description
Dietitian I - Endocrinology – Peace Health (Part‑time, 0.70 FTE, Variable position). This billable clinician role is primarily on‑site; a hybrid option may be available.
Location:
Bellingham, WA. The position is an integral part of our outpatient nutrition team within Peace Health Primary Care and Specialty practice, focusing on medical nutrition therapy for both pediatric and adult populations with diagnoses including Renal Disease, Weight Management, Digestive disorders (IBS, SIBO, IBD), Pre‑Diabetes/Diabetes, infant feeding concerns, adolescent nutrition, etc.
- Competently use the Nutrition Care Process including assessment, identification of nutritional diagnoses, implementation of appropriate interventions, and formulation of patient‑specific goals, monitoring, evaluating, and following up on outcomes.
- Provide evidence‑based nutrition education to patients and families in outpatient and/or inpatient settings.
- Provide consult services to other healthcare providers and participate in the interdisciplinary team.
- Document all activities in the EMR in accordance with policies, procedures and regulations.
- Make referrals to other services, agencies and community resources as appropriate.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Master's degree required in a related field of study. (Caregivers who earned their RD license before 1/1/2024 when a bachelor's degree was sufficient will be grandfathered.)
- Successful completion of an approved internship/training program.
- Registered Dietitian required at hire or must pass Registration Exam within 180 days.
- Certified Dietitian – Washington (required for outpatient dietitians in WA).
- Current Medicare provider status number may be required.
- Demonstrated skill in teaching adults and pediatrics of varying competency levels. (Required)
- Ability to design, implement, and evaluate instructional materials. (Required)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills. (Required)
- Ability to interact with a variety of departments and work independently on numerous projects simultaneously. (Required)
- Proficiency in the use of computers including MS Office applications. (Required)
- Demonstrated knowledge of age‑specific principles of growth and development and life stages to meet each patient’s needs. (Required)
