POSITION SUMMARY: The primary responsibility of the Laundry Attendant is to ensure that linen is clean, sanitized and available for use by hotel Housekeepers and other departments as needed while complying with the Oxford Collection of hotels safety standards / security procedures. This position is responsible for washing, drying, ironing, folding, sorting and distribution of all hotel linen.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: All duties and responsibilities of this position are to be performed with exceptional caring and genuine guest service upholding the Oxford Collection of hotels standards and culture at all times.

Laundry (85%):

Sort laundry by fabric type, color, item, and soil concentration to maximize cleaning effectiveness
Remove damaged or stained items before loading washers, pretreat stains as needed
Ensure washer/dryer loads to recommended capacities
Set washers and dryers to appropriate cycles, heating, and cooling times to ensure safe and efficient laundering
Operate, maintain, and clean laundry equipment following company standards
Press, fold, and stack all linens
Assist in delivering linens to designated closets and storage areas to meet production standards
Maintain a clean work environment by sweeping, mopping, and ensuring that the laundry area is organized and free of safety hazards

Perform all tasks in compliance with federal, state, local, food safety and sanitation requirements and Oxford Collection of hotels safety standards and security procedures. Be knowledgeable about and able to respond to emergency situations. Report any maintenance repairs needed immediately to their supervisor or General Manager

Safety and Maintenance (5%):

Follow all safety procedures to minimize hazards in the laundry area including proper handling of all hazardous materials following Blood Borne Pathogen protocols
Report any equipment malfunctions or supply shortages immediately to the supervisor
Be knowledgeable about and respond to emergency situations effectively

Guest Relations (5%):

Interact professionally with guests and staff, maintaining a high level of customer service
Always provide a high level of customer service, taking time with our guests to ensure every aspect of their stay is up to expectations
Communicate effectively with the housekeeping team to meet daily linen needs and service goals
