About

the Position

As our Transportation Helper you will be responsible for:

  • Delivering; loading and unloading vehicles; using dollies, hand trucks, and other equipment necessary to transport supplies and equipment or hand carrying freight to appropriate designation.
  • Assisting with confirmation, receiving and shipping of purchases/back orders/warranties.
  • Checking supplies and materials; packing, crating, preparing and labeling materials for shipment and/or delivery; obtaining receipts upon delivery and recording shortages and/or breakage on proper forms; unpacking, assembling and storing material and supplies.
  • Assisting in the pick-up and delivery of various items.
  • Assisting with uploading, assembling, storing, and disposing of material and supplies.
  • Assisting with driving and preparation of orders for transport.
Required Qualifications
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Ability to drive mid-size delivery truck.

Preferred Qualifications
  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • At least one year of experience with warehouse work.
  • Two years of driving experience.

Salary: Typical starting salary is $16.09 to $18.48.

Bargaining Unit

This position is part of bargaining unit B and is covered by the Washington Federation of State Employees at 350 hours worked. This position will work no more than 1050 hours.
