Position Overview
Peace Health is seeking an LPN Clinic – Pediatrics for a part‑time, 0.50 FTE, variable position. Salary range: $26.70 – $40.06 per hour. Hiring rate depends on education, training, experience, seniority, and collective bargaining agreement terms.
Job SummaryResponsible for ensuring delivery of quality nursing care to clinic patients as directed by physicians and other healthcare providers. The Clinic LPN functions as a core member of the interdisciplinary care team and shares the roles and responsibilities of rooming nurse, resource nurse, and clinical support nurse in the ambulatory patient care setting.
Essential Functions- Assesses and implements patient care under supervision. Prepares patient for examination.
- Provides direct patient care. Assists provider with examination and treatment of patient as directed.
- Under the oversight of provider, may be responsible for telephone triage using age‑specific triage protocol books and computerized resources.
- Documents patient care in health record according to department standards.
- Obtains and conveys information to and from patients, pharmacies, and other providers as directed and supervised by a licensed provider. May obtain referral authorizations for treatment as directed by provider.
- Ensures own professional effectiveness through continued education and professional development.
- LPN roles may be hybrid (onsite & remote) based on department needs.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Accredited State Board of Nursing LPN program required.
- Minimum of 1 year preferred: clinical experience as an LPN.
- Required:
demonstrated knowledge of and ability to apply age‑specific principles of growth and development and life stages to meet each patient’s needs.
- Required upon hire:
Licensed Practical Nurse – Washington. - Required upon hire:
Basic Life Support.
- Basic computer skills including familiarity with MS Office applications.
- Cooperative working and interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with a wide variety of patients, families, and staff.
- Effective prioritization skills with the ability to manage multiple clinical tasks at one time.
- Well organized, detail oriented, flexible, and able to function independently.
- Patient handling no greater than 35 lbs. without assistive equipment.
- Fine motor skills required to grasp and control medical equipment and perform precise procedures.
- Push/Pull: frequently up to 45 lbs. force (e.g., medical carts).
- Hands‑on CPR at least 20 minutes using 100‑125 lbs. of force (frequency seldom or occasionally).
- Ability to move around area with frequent sitting.
- Bending, stooping, squatting, reaching, kneeling frequently.
- Non‑patient lifting up to 20 lbs. occasionally and 5 lbs. frequently.
- Exposure to biohazard, body fluids and airborne particles.
- Must be able to complete tasks in a noisy environment.
- Vision and hearing required within normal limits (glasses, contacts, hearing aids permitted).
- Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information.
