Overview

The Assistant in Training (AIT) and Assistant Manager position’s primary responsibility is to fulfill our mission statement, “to create the most enjoyable shopping experience possible for our Guests.” The AIT and Assistant Managers perform a variety of sales, merchandising and operational tasks assigned by store management. They work with the Store Manager and Leadership Team to develop sales, recruit new Teammates and provide leadership.

The AIT/Assistant Manager shares responsibility for training and motivating Teammates and acts as the Store Manager in their absence. The Assistant Manager position is a progression from the AIT position with additional high level duties specific to that role, while the majority of duties are shared.

Responsibilities
  • Sales Generation and Guest Service: greet Guests, answer questions, recommend and locate merchandise, anticipate needs, demonstrate product knowledge, and maintain high standards of service.
  • Leadership and

    Coaching:

    lead by example, provide feedback, coach and train Teammates, and assume leadership responsibilities in the absence of the Store Manager.
  • Recruiting and Development: identify recruiting opportunities, build relationships with Guests and Teammates, and assist in developing new Teammates to meet standards on a daily basis.
  • Visual Merchandise Management: own and influence product presentation, ensure adherence to visual standards, and review floor zones and displays.
  • Operations: maintain schedules, loss prevention practices, POS procedures, policy compliance, and store readiness; assist with inventory, freight, and store communications.
  • Senior Leadership and Other Duties: participate in interviews, support team development, manage special projects, and assist with store education focus as needed.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED; or 1–3 months related retail experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holiday periods as needed.
  • Strong customer service orientation and effective communication skills.
  • Ability to lead, coach and develop Teammates in a dynamic retail environment.
Compensation & Benefits

Pay range: $19-$24/hr the estimated range reflects base pay plus potential incentives. Final offers are based on factors such as skill, experience, location, and qualifications. For sales roles, standard compensation may include a base rate plus commission.
