Machine Operator 2nd Shift

Join as a Machine Operator 2nd Shift at Sonnax Transmission Company. The position is part of Marmon Holdings, a Berkshire Hathaway company, and involves setting up and operating manual and semi‑CNC machinery to produce parts for the automotive aftermarket.

Responsibilities include operating machines safely, performing quality checks, maintaining equipment, performing preventive maintenance, and keeping the work area clean.

• Interpret engineering drawings and work instructions to understand tolerances of the parts to be machined.
• Interpret setup documentation to set up a variety of jobs.
• Perform quality checks and make necessary adjustments to hold dimensions and tolerances.
• Operate machines in a safe manner to meet parts‑per‑hour production requirements.
• Take proper care of all Sonnax tools and equipment.
• Perform daily preventive maintenance, as required.
• Maintain a clean and orderly work area.

• High school diploma and/or GED.
• Understanding of basic mechanical properties.
• Experience with machine operation and using and reading precision measuring tools.
• Understanding of basic shop math including decimal/fraction conversion.
• Operate automatic machines to produce parts to specified tolerances and company standard times.

• No restrictions on wearing required PPE for the area, including safety eyewear and safety‑toed shoes, and lifting up to 40 lbs.

Position pays a 10% 2nd Shift differential.
