JL Renewable Solutions are delighted to be partnering with a leading UK infrastructure and utilities contractor to recruit a Senior Quantity Surveyor into their growing commercial team.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced commercial professional looking to move away from the traditional project delivery-focused Quantity Surveying role and into a position with a greater emphasis on pre‑construction, design development, commercial advisory services and NEC contract strategy.
Working closely with operational, engineering and commercial stakeholders, you will play a key role in shaping projects during their early lifecycle, helping to identify commercial risks, influence delivery strategy and support successful project outcomes before work reaches site.
Role- Providing commercial support during pre‑construction and design phases
- Advising on NEC contract strategy and risk management
- Supporting bid, tender and pricing activities
- Reviewing scopes of work and contract documentation
- Cost planning and commercial forecasting
- Identifying and mitigating commercial risks
- Supporting project teams with commercial and contractual guidance
- Working closely with design, engineering and operational teams
- Developing strong client and stakeholder relationships
- Ensuring commercial best practice is embedded throughout project development
- Proven NEC contract experience
- Strong commercial and contractual knowledge
- Experience with in utilities, energy, power, infrastructure or civil engineering projects
- A background in pre‑construction, estimating, commercial advisory or early‑stage project support
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
- Strong commercial acumen and risk awareness
- The ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams
- Salary up to £75,000
