JL Renewable Solutions are delighted to be partnering with a leading UK infrastructure and utilities contractor to recruit a Senior Quantity Surveyor into their growing commercial team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced commercial professional looking to move away from the traditional project delivery-focused Quantity Surveying role and into a position with a greater emphasis on pre‑construction, design development, commercial advisory services and NEC contract strategy.

Working closely with operational, engineering and commercial stakeholders, you will play a key role in shaping projects during their early lifecycle, helping to identify commercial risks, influence delivery strategy and support successful project outcomes before work reaches site.

• Providing commercial support during pre‑construction and design phases
• Advising on NEC contract strategy and risk management
• Supporting bid, tender and pricing activities
• Reviewing scopes of work and contract documentation
• Cost planning and commercial forecasting
• Identifying and mitigating commercial risks
• Supporting project teams with commercial and contractual guidance
• Working closely with design, engineering and operational teams
• Developing strong client and stakeholder relationships
• Ensuring commercial best practice is embedded throughout project development

• Proven NEC contract experience
• Strong commercial and contractual knowledge
• Experience with in utilities, energy, power, infrastructure or civil engineering projects
• A background in pre‑construction, estimating, commercial advisory or early‑stage project support
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
• Strong commercial acumen and risk awareness
• The ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams

• Salary up to £75,000
