Welding Supervisor

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate all welding activities in the workshop and onsite, ensuring compliance with project specifications, procedures, and schedules.
• Ensure welding is performed in accordance with approved WPS, drawings, and applicable codes and standards. Coordinate inspections including visual inspection, NDT, and documentation control.
• Lead, mentor, and manage welders and welding assistants to maintain productivity, workmanship quality, and safety standards.
• Allocate resources effectively, monitor welding progress, and provide feedback to project and production teams on performance and constraints.
• Enforce HSE policies and promote a strong safety culture within the welding team.
• Technical Support & Problem Solving:
  Assist in resolving welding-related technical issues, repair procedures, and non-conformance matters.

Qualifications/

Experience:

Educational background:
Trade Tested Welder / Welding inspection certification SAIW level 1 or 2 (Advantageous)

Years of experience: 5+ years of welding experience, with at least 2–3 years in a supervisory capacity.

Industry knowledge:
Experience in fabrication, marine, oil and gas, or high-pressure piping environments will be advantageous.

Technical knowledge:
Strong understanding of welding procedures (WPS/PQR), material grades, weld symbols, and NDT requirements.

Computer literacy:
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.

Additional skills:
Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple work fronts simultaneously.
