The purpose of the Block Operator is to ensure machine settings and operations are correct, or adjusted, to ensure that a perfect filled bottle is produced with the right quality specification from the preforms manufactured at Twizza;
while managing waste streams, and machine availability.
- Run the blower, filler, and mixer.
- Perform flavour changes on the mixer, filler, and blower.
- Choose the correct product in the flavour room and discuss with Team Leader.
- Follow SOP for flavour start‑up at mixer and filler.
- Execute a 50‑bottle start‑up run and verify product quality: taste, colour, Brix, CO2.
- During flavour change, drain caps if necessary and remove all bottles, caps, and preforms from blower, filler, mixer, and surrounding area.
- Check product hourly and record findings.
- Inspect bottles hourly for pearlescence, solid base with small centre, straight neck.
- Investigate and address rejections at the check‑mat and ensure faults are switched on at the check‑mat.
- Report unnecessary rejections to the Team Leader.
- Decant rejected bottles and remove them regularly.
- Keep blower, filler, mixer and surrounding areas clean.
- Clean filter V700 for base cooling after shift start.
- Clean all sensors and check‑mat cameras after shift start.
- Assist with maintenance of preform hopper, conveyors, blower, filler, and mixer under guidance from Maintenance Manager on maintenance day.
- Maintain a clean, running condition of your area and hand it over likewise.
- Report any faults or problems as soon as possible.
- Place preforms while the preform loader is on lunch.
- Handle Line 2 tasks.
- Perform size changes per SOP for blower moulds and filler star wheels.
- Verify all changes by jogging the machine and inspecting the change area.
- Set conveyors, check‑mat, and sensors for specific sizes until the first flow‑bin; run a bottle.
- Document all activities as per QMS.
- Perform Autonomous Maintenance Level 1‑4.
- Manage machine‑specific processes.
- Handle breakdown management.
- Maintain general cleaning standards, safe and healthy work environment.
- Complete QMS documents.
- Adhere to all Food Safety Standards and report all issues to the Food Safety Team.
- Measure, monitor, and verify Critical Control Points (CCP 1) at predetermined frequencies per SOP.
- Grade 12.
- At least 1 year’s experience in blow moulding equipment.
- At least 1 year’s experience in the beverage industry.
