Steel Plant Maintenance Co-ordinator

Do you have a track record of optimising operations with your facilities maintenance experience in a steel active operations factory? We are looking for a Steel Plant Maintenance Co-ordinator in Bellville, Cape Town, Western Cape.

Our client in Bellville requires your facilities management to maximise factory uptime and ensure production continuity by maintaining the best physical infrastructure, utility supply, & regulatory safety compliance etc.

We require a hands on individual who can work in a fast paced, demanding and pressurised environment.

Requirements:

• Minimum Grade 12 education or equivalent
• 3-5 years of verified maintenance experience within an active operations factory
• Computer literate (MS Word, MS Excel)
• Technical tertiary qualification (Diploma or N qualification)
• Advantages:

• Ability to identify problems and implement preventative strategies to minimise risk

• Must be prepared to work overtime and standby when and if required

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Oversight of heavy machine foundations, overhead gantry crane, specialized extraction ventilation, and high-load workshop floors
• Oversee maintenance of buildings, structural elements, electrical systems, plumbing, HVAC, and other facility assets
• Prepare and maintain maintenance schedules
• Manage stock, spares and material requirements internally and with suitable suppliers
• Respond to facility-related emergencies and coordinate corrective actions
• Maintain accurate maintenance records, reports, and documentation
• Keep the production line running by ensuring machine uptime, water, gas and compressed air systems function continuously
• Supervise specialized external vendors performing civil, electrical, mechanical or structural repairs
• Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations, building codes, and risk management policies
• Work closely with Production to identify and resolve equipment-related issues
