Sarens Siba (Pty) Ltd is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented SHEQ Coordinator to support the implementation, coordination, and monitoring of Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality (SHEQ) activities on a Wind Farm Project. The successful candidate will work closely with project teams to ensure compliance with company standards, client requirements, and applicable legislation while promoting a culture of safety excellence and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate daily SHEQ activities across the project and support site management in achieving SHEQ objectives.
- Monitor compliance with project SHEQ plans, procedures, risk assessments, and safe work practices.
- Verify permits, toolbox talks, inductions, training records, and employee compliance requirements.
- Conduct workplace inspections, audits, and safety observations, and follow up on corrective actions.
- Assist with incident reporting, investigations, trend analysis, and the implementation of preventative measures.
- Maintain SHEQ documentation, registers, reports, and project records.
- Coordinate emergency preparedness activities, drills, and SHEQ training initiatives.
- Liaise with project personnel, contractors, and stakeholders to promote awareness and compliance with SHEQ requirements.
- Ensure all SHEQ documentation is accurately maintained and uploaded to the relevant systems.
- Diploma or Certificate in Safety Management, Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Management, or a related field.
- SAMTRAC, COMSOC, or equivalent SHEQ qualification.
- Minimum 3 years' SHEQ experience within construction, renewable energy, heavy lifting, engineering, logistics, or industrial projects.
- Knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and applicable SHEQ legislation.
- Experience conducting inspections, audits, incident investigations, and risk assessments.
- Strong administrative, reporting, and organisational skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Valid driver's licence.
- Wind Farm or Renewable Energy project experience will be advantageous.
