Tissue Dissectionist Coordinator

Job Profile Summary

Responsible for dissecting/preparing/storing an incoming tissue specimen. Need to have in-depth knowledge of human neuroanatomy. This role works independently, under direct and indirect supervision, and performs technical and clerical tasks required for the efficient functioning of the department.

Does this position require Patient Care? No

• Prepare the Dissection Lab for the arrival of a tissue specimen.
• Dissect and store the specimen according to standardized protocols.
• Take required tissue quality control measurements.
• Clean the Dissection Lab, ensuring all biohazard materials are appropriately stored or disposed of.
• Attend monthly meetings.

• Bachelor's Degree Related Field of Study required
• Can this role accept experience in lieu of a degree? Yes

Experience

• Previous Research experience 1-2 years preferred

• Ability to work independently and on a team.
• Must demonstrate attention to details and accuracy in data entry.
• Using scientific rules and methods to solve problems.
• Knowledge of human neuroanatomy.
