Mass General Brigham seeks a pharmacist to optimize drug therapy, resolve and prevent drug‑related problems, and improve therapeutic outcomes while providing patient care according to pharmacy laws and regulations. The pharmacist may also prescribe medications under collaborative drug therapy management agreements (CDTM) where applicable.

Essential Functions
  • Provides direction and guidance to pharmacists and ancillary support staff, holds accountability for job responsibilities, and promotes professional behavior.
  • Provides feedback to pharmacy managers, practice managers, and medical directors for interim and annual performance appraisals of pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, interns, physicians, and other clinical staff.
  • Operates within the limits of pharmacy policy and procedures.
  • Ensures compliance with targeted drug programs, formulary management, medication management initiatives, and adverse drug event monitoring programs.
  • Documents and reports clinical interventions, medication errors, and adverse drug events.
  • Participates in department quality improvement efforts.
  • Attends and daily medical and multidisciplinary rounds, and participates in specialty rounds as needed and as time allows.
  • Collaborates with other healthcare providers and follows all policies, procedures, laws, and regulations set forth by the Board of Pharmacy and other regulatory agencies.
Qualifications
  • Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm

    D) required.
  • Board Certification in Pharmacotherapy or Psychiatry preferred.
  • Experience working as a pharmacist 3–5 years preferred.
  • Residency experience required; PGY2 residency in psychiatry preferred.
  • Extensive knowledge and ability in IV admixtures, drug information, ambulatory care, manufacturing, and drug distribution.
  • Attention to detail, ability to assess patient data relative to age‑specific needs, and ability to provide care in line with department policies and procedures.
  • Contributes to system‑wide initiatives and serves as a subject‑matter expert.
  • Works predominantly independently and participates in site and system‑wide initiatives.
  • Develops and participates in department quality improvement efforts and in the training of medical, nursing, and allied health professionals.
  • Must complete 20 continuing education credits per year to maintain a license.
Physical Requirements
  • Standing Frequently (34–66 %) – Lifting 35 lb+ with assistance, Carrying 20–35 lb.
  • Sitting Occasionally (3–33 %) – Pushing, Pulling, Climbing, Balancing, Stooping, Kneeling, Crouching, Crawling, Reaching, Gross Manipulation, Fine Manipulation, and Vision/Frequency/ Hearing/ Remote Use all vary by task.
