As a Certified Medication Aide (CMA) you are responsible for providing routine nursing care and ensuring the medication pass is completed timely and accurately in accordance with established policies and procedures. You may be directed by the Assisted Living Operator, Director of Nursing or Administrator to ensure the highest degree of quality resident care.

• Assist in passing medications to residents on your assigned unit.
• Prepare residents for therapy, activities, physician visits, religious services, etc.
• Prepare and administer medication documents, ensuring the right medication to the right patient at the right time, dosage, and route.
• Assist residents with proper hygiene if needed.
• Bathe residents as assigned and in accordance with established facility procedures, encouraging showers and other self‑help measures/activities.
• Follow infection control procedures in accordance with established facility policy when isolation techniques are necessary.
• Chart required information every shift pertaining to the role of the certified Medication Aide (CMA).
• Present a professional image to consumers through dress, behavior and speech.
• Adhere to Company Standards for resolving consumer concerns.
• Ensure that all consumer/resident rights are protected.

• Current certification as a Certified Medication Aide (CMA).
• Ability to read, write and speak the English language.
• Patience, tact, cheerful disposition, enthusiasm, and willingness to handle residents based on their maturity level.
