CNC Machinist, Machine Operator, Manufacturing Production
Role
You are responsible for reading and interpreting design blueprints, programming the CNC machine, and adjusting the machine settings until the desired specifications are met. You are always trying to improve the accuracy and efficiency of programs for part production. This position is essential to ensure the success of the company.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of 3 and 4 axis machine experience is required
- Master Cam X experience preferred - will train
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Ability to lift 50 pounds
- Ability to inspect parts with various measuring tools
- Must have good manual dexterity
Responsibilities
- Read technical drawings and set up the machines in accordance with these blueprints
- Use computer software (Mastercam) to model cutting paths and program machines accordingly
- Design and aid in the fabrication of fixturing for parts of varying complexity
- Perform quality assurance tests to ensure products meet design specifications
- Setup and operate a variety of CNC equipment to produce high-precision components using engineering drawings and specifications
- Analyze drawings to determine dimensions and to choose cutting tools, machine speeds, and feed rates
- Adjust machine cutting paths or settings to optimize production while maintaining quality
- Consider tools required to cut materials and program machines accordingly
- Troubleshoot and resolve problems during the manufacturing process
- Perform basic machine maintenance such as cleaning and sharpening
- Train operators to properly carry out programs
- Understand and have functional use of CNC code and CNC programming
- Set machine origins in accordance with the set-up instructions
- Machine part dimensions to maintain close tolerances with a high demand for squareness, concentricity, finish, and parallelism
- Set and load all tools in conjunction with set-up instructions to complete assigned jobs
- Set up fixture components for jobs that require CNC Machining
- G & M code fluency and ability to edit programs
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships with peers, supervisors, and other staff
- Other duties as directed by supervisor
- Continue to lead process improvement, process development, and productivity improvement efforts.
Expectations
To perform the position of Set up and Programming successfully, an individual must be able to perform each responsibility in an exemplary manner. They will work with the shop floor leads and office personnel to ensure jobs are completed on time. A large part of this position deals with machine set up/operation and resource management.

- Full-time, Day Shift 6:00 am to 2:30 pm with overtime opportunities

High School Diploma or GED
- Compensation: $25.00 to $35.00 /hour Dependent on Experience
