Role
The Paint Prep Technician is responsible for preparing and coating various metal and fabricated components using a combination of bead blasting, power washing, and powder coating techniques. This role involves operating specialized equipment to clean, smooth, and prepare surfaces, as well as applying powder coatings to meet quality standards. The technician will perform material preparation tasks such as cleaning, masking, and inspecting parts to ensure high-quality finishes and adherence to customer specifications.
Responsibilities
- Prepare Parts for Coating and Blasting:
- Clean, and inspect parts to ensure proper surface preparation for blasting.
- Stage components appropriately for bead blasting, or power washing processes.
- Follow proper handling procedures to avoid damage and ensure accuracy.
- Operate Equipment:
- Safely and efficiently operate bead blasting and power washing equipment to clean, smooth, or etch surfaces.
- Adjust equipment settings based on part material, required finish, and coating specifications.
- Monitor and Inspect:
- Observe machine gauges and equipment operation to detect defects or irregularities during blasting.
- Inspect parts before and after cleaning to ensure they meet required specifications and quality standards.
- Equipment Maintenance:
- Perform routine cleaning, filter changes, and maintenance on blasting and power washing equipment to ensure proper function.
- Demonstrate good knowledge of the mechanics and repair of blasting equipment.
- Quality and Efficiency:
- Ensure all components are produced efficiently, meeting company-established goals for quality and on-time performance.
- Maintain quality standards and processes throughout the facility.
- Safety and Organization:
- Adhere to all safety guidelines and utilize appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Additional Duties:
- Load and unload parts or products onto fixtures.
- Assist with other surface preparation tasks such as washing, sanding, or additional cleaning techniques as needed.
- Perform other duties as required to support the team.

Employment Details
-Full-time, Day Shift 6:00 am to 2:30 pm with overtime opportunities

Education:
- High School Diploma or GED
-Compensation:
- $15.00 to $20.00 /hour, depending on Experience
