Location: Beloit, WI
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8AM–5PM (Full Time, 40 Hours/Week)
Reports To: Dental Practice Manager

Job Summary

The Dental Assistant supports dentists and hygienists with clinical procedures and plays an important role in ensuring efficient, high-quality patient care. Responsibilities include assisting during dental procedures, maintaining sterilization and infection control, performing laboratory tasks, and supporting administrative duties consistent with CHS policies and professional standards.

Essential Job Functions

Assist providers with direct patient care and patient comfort.

Seat patients, review health histories, record vital signs, and confirm pre-medication requirements.

Support dental procedures including exams, restorations, endodontics, oral surgery, and prosthetics.

Perform coronal polishing, provide oral hygiene instruction, and apply topical fluoride.

Expose and process dental radiographs.

Take impressions, pour and trim models, and prepare procedure trays and operatories.

Maintain sterilization and infection control per CDC and OSHA standards.

Manage dental supplies, equipment maintenance, and lab coordination.

Maintain accurate and complete electronic dental records.

Participate in CHS safety programs and required trainings.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications

Completion of an accredited Dental Assistant program preferred; at least one year of dental assisting experience required if not certified.

Strong knowledge of dental instruments, equipment, and infection control procedures.

Excellent communication, teamwork, and organizational skills.

Experience with Microsoft Office and electronic dental records.

Bilingual (Spanish/English) a plus.

Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA standards.

Physical Demands

Frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to 30 lbs.

  • Fast-paced clinical setting with moderate noise and limited exposure to X-rays.
