The City of Beloit has an exciting employment opportunity as a MPO Coordinator. This position operates under the Planning and Building Services Division of the Community Development Department.
The MPO Coordinator is primarily responsible for conducting the federally mandated 3-C (continuing, cooperative, and comprehensive) regional transportation planning process for the Stateline Area Transportation Study (SLATS), which is the federally designated Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) for the Beloit, Wisconsin-Illinois urban area. This includes all professional, technical, and administrative functions of SLATS. This position provides staff support to the SLATS Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) and SLATS Policy Board, is responsible for public information and stakeholder outreach, acts as the liaison with local, state, and federal agencies, as well as appointed and elected officials, transit operators, and the public.
It is responsible for maintaining a forum for collaborative transportation planning and decision-making.
The MPO Coordinator assists in the implementation of transportation plans, serves as the point of contact for SLATS activities, ensures compliance with federal transportation planning and other applicable regulations, and guarantees that customer service is delivered effectively and efficiently.
