Registered Respiratory Therapist – Belton Regional Medical Center

The Respiratory Therapist coordinates and delivers high‑quality, patient‑centered respiratory care in accordance with state standards and hospital protocols. This role involves performing diagnostic tests, providing therapeutic interventions, and monitoring patients receiving invasive and non‑invasive mechanical ventilation.

• Perform and document patient assessment, including breath sounds, airway patency, and cuff pressure.
• Conduct diagnostic procedures to evaluate the need for, and response to, respiratory therapy.
• Administer respiratory care therapies such as oxygen delivery, aerosol medication delivery, and chest physiotherapy.
• Assist with placement of artificial airways and initiate, monitor, and maintain mechanical ventilation.
• Monitor patients for therapeutic response, the provider, and intervene as appropriate in the event of an unintended response.
• Assist with transportation of ventilator‑dependent patients.
• Respond to emergent patient situations and ensure airway integrity and adequate ventilation during resuscitation as required.

• Associates or Bachelors degree in Respiratory Therapy from an accredited program.
• Current Respiratory Therapist license from the State Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC RRT required).
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• American Heart Association or American Red Cross Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred upon hire; ACLS and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) required within 6 months of hire.
• One year of recent clinical experience preferred.
