Pharmacist In Charge – Full Time with Excellent Benefits – Cosentino’s Price Chopper #359, Belton, MO
Position objective:
Assist customers in their shopping experience by leading a pharmacy team that demonstrates compliance with organizational policies and applicable legislation, promotes company growth, and delivers outstanding service.
Reporting Structure:
The position reports to the Corporate Pharmacy Director and takes direction from the Store Director on daily store operations. Status:
Exempt position.
- Valid driver’s license required for deliveries.
- Current pharmacist license in good standing.
- B.S. in Pharmacy or Pharm.
D. - Minimum 2–4 years of related experience or training.
- Completion of ongoing training and development listed on the Cosentino Learning Plan.
- Knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and retail pharmacy software systems.
- Compound and dispense prescribed medications, ensuring accuracy and determining formulas and ingredients.
- Review prescriptions for accuracy, dosage, and safety.
- Direct pharmacy employees in mixing, packaging, and labeling pharmaceuticals.
- Oversee compliance with DMEPOS and CMS regulations.
- Answer customer questions about drug interactions, side effects, dosage, and storage.
- Maintain procedures for quality assurance, security of controlled substances, and disposal of hazardous waste.
- Enter data (patient name, medication, cost) into pharmacy files, charge system, and inventory.
- Assay medications to determine identity, purity, and strength.
- Instruct interns and medical personnel on pharmacy matters.
- Provide overall supervision of pharmacy activities in an operationally effective, motivating, and respectful manner.
- Organize implementation of corporate programs and initiatives in the pharmacy department.
- Communicate departmental goals and implement plans to achieve them.
- Promote a positive team atmosphere and recognize achievements.
- Provide coaching, corrective actions, and performance evaluations to improve performance.
- Address employee relations issues and collaborate with Human Resources when needed.
- Conduct interviews to hire high‑quality candidates.
- Manage labor costs, balancing customer service needs with cost control.
- Resolve customer complaints professionally and involve management when appropriate.
- Know and implement Cosentino Customer Service Standards.
- Meet or exceed productivity and quality targets.
- Operate necessary equipment safely and competently.
- Ensure compliance with health regulations, sanitation, and safety procedures.
- Maintain cleanliness of the premises.
- Demonstrate strong verbal, interpersonal, math, reading, and written communication skills.
- Maintain open communication with Store Director and Corporate Director regarding department issues.
- Assist other stores or departments and gain new skills as required.
- Reach overhead with both arms, twist at the waist, and lift up to 15 lbs.
- Stand and walk for long periods on hard surfaces.
- Occasionally lift and carry up to 15 lbs.
- Bend and squat occasionally to floor level.
- Climb ladders up to 5 ft.
