The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor seeks qualified Christian employees for this part‑time teacher position in the UMHB Arts Academy. The role provides instruction in Violin, Viola, Cello, and/or String Bass through private lessons and group classes. Instruction will be guided by the Director of the Arts Academy, offering professional guidance to students of all ages and levels.
Responsibilities- Provide instruction in string instruments (violin, viola, cello, and/or bass) through private lessons and group classes.
- Teach students at all ages and levels with knowledge and expertise.
- Maintain lesson times and communicate with students and parents regarding cancellations or schedule changes.
- Organize holidays and weekend special events/performances as needed.
- Work primarily after school (2:00 p.m.–8:00 p.m.) Monday through Friday, with occasional weekend events.
- Active and committed Christian who supports University mission and participates in local church.
- Experience in music or related field required.
- Ability to teach all ages of string instrument study.
- Proficiency in playing string instruments.
- Experience in ensemble participation.
- Reliable and dependable in maintaining lesson times and communication.
- Professional and cordial communication with students and parents.
- Ability to organize, prioritize work, and work independently.
- Excellent time management skills.
- Agree to University’s Employee Statement of Understanding.
