Construction Safety Supervisor - Maryland

Railroad Construction Company, Inc. is currently seeking a Safety Supervisor in the Beltsville, Maryland area.

The Safety Supervisor is responsible for the implementation and operations of the Project Safety, Health & Environmental Program, safety inspections, accident investigations and other items pertaining to the client, Federal, State and Local regulations. They also conduct training, new hire orientation and Safety Meetings.

A successful Construction Safety Supervisor will have:
  • 5 years of safety related experience, at the management level in the heavy construction field
  • A thorough understanding of OHSA Construction Standards
  • Knowledge of Federal, State and Local safety and environmental regulations and standards
  • The ability to complete reports relative to jobsite inspections
  • Computer skills and familiarity with the Microsoft Office
  • Management, leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to identify hazards during construction work
  • Ability to lead a team
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to multi‑task
  • Ability to develop and implement an effective site‑specific safety plan.
  • Ability to identify hazards and to develop corrective actions to eliminate them
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety / Health or similar discipline
  • CHST Certification
  • ASSE Membership
