Building Automation Design and Commissioning Engineer

My client is a Fortune 100 company that is actively seeking a couple of Building Automation Design and Programming Engineers. You will oversee the Design process for Building Automation Systems before they reach the field for installation. Commissioning a plus. Knowledge of Building Automation systems essential. The Commissioning Engineers oversee and manage all stages of control panel prefabrication before field installation.

You will oversee and be reviewing engineering designs and designing prefabricated panels according to project plans, specifications, and contract documents. Additionally, the Senior Commissioning Engineer will support Project Managers in scheduling engineering, programming, and graphic deliverables, as well as coordinating material deliveries.

• Independently lead and manage building automation projects deliverables through the prefabrication process until turnover to the Siemens field organization
• Design prefabrication of panels to include all components ensuring fit as well as compliance with local codes and ordinance
• Review system controls sequences and participate in meetings to clarify and improve them
• Generate pre-functional checklists
• Write system‑specific functional performance test scripts from design control sequences.
• Possess thorough knowledge and understanding of building automation systems (BAS) and being able to use and manipulate BAS independently
• Generate and maintain RFI’s with a focus on expediting issues resolution
• Demonstrate exceptional communication skills in all situations by being a proficient writer who can concisely communicate and manage information throughout all phases of a project
• Demonstrate exceptional project management skills by providing clear, transparent and regular updates on project statuses.
• Coordinate engineering, programming, graphic and material deliveries into a master schedule.

Basic Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or State‑Recognized GED
• 3+ years construction project management or engineering experience with mechanical, electrical, and building automation systems, including design, controls systems integration and implementation
• Must be able to demonstrate:
  • Ability to troubleshoot, test, adjust, and balance facility operations
  • Hands‑on building automation controls commissioning, and equipment start‑up and operations
• Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, or Associate’s degree in Engineering
