As a critical member of the HR team, the Senior HR Business Partner is a key leader with a unique opportunity to support the company by serving as a problem solver. This is a strategic role that partners with leadership to influence key business initiatives, accelerate business, foster collaboration and simplify complexity. This role is 100% office‑based and is located in Beltsville, MD supporting Bowers, an industry‑leading mechanical contracting company under the Legence brand, which represents approximately 1,700 union and non‑union employees.

Accountabilities

  • Be a challenger, be a collaborator, and be dedicated to ensuring business unit alignment with HR Leadership and broader company vision, including its current and long‑term business objectives.
  • Invest in relationships and work to get a deep understanding of the business and leadership priorities, including business strategies, P&L, and key initiatives that drive the bottom line.
  • Partner with leadership to forge strong relationships. Speak straight and communicate with impact, utilizing strong collaboration and influencing skills.
  • Share information while partnering with the HR shared services team to support a wide range of projects across HR Management, Talent Acquisition, Talent Development, Compensation and Benefits, HRIS, and Payroll.
  • Listen to understand and be influential in balancing business unit needs with overall company vision and initiatives to protect the interests of the organization.
  • Must be strategic‑minded, able to see the big picture, and be future‑focused. Must have a proven track record of operating in a fast‑paced HR environment, with an aptitude across the entire range of HR functions.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate and influence leadership at all levels.

Education and Experience
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience working in a developed HR environment with exposure to a broad range of HR services.
