We are seeking a passionate and creative Art Teacher to inspire and educate students in the visual arts. The ideal candidate will foster a love for art, encourage creativity, and help students develop their artistic skills across various mediums.

SESI Schools provide specialized education programming for K-12 students who require additional educational and positive behavioral supports to overcome challenges that impede success in a traditional school setting.
Responsibilities- Develop and implement a comprehensive art curriculum that aligns with educational standards and meets the diverse needs of students.
- Teach various art techniques and mediums, including drawing, painting, sculpture, and digital art.
- Create a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere that encourages student participation and artistic exploration.
- Assess and evaluate student progress, providing constructive feedback to support their growth.
- Organize art exhibitions and displays to showcase student work and promote appreciation for the arts within the school community.
- Collaborate with other educators to integrate art into cross-curricular projects and events.
- Stay updated on current trends in art education and incorporate innovative practices into the classroom.
- Manage classroom resources, including art supplies and equipment, ensuring they are available and in good condition.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues to foster a collaborative learning environment.
- BA degree required
- Teaching license in Art
Starting salary from $50,000.00 per year.
Physical Requirements- Ability to run short distances and move swiftly in response to student needs, including bending, kneeling, and crouching.
- Ability to lift and assist students with mobility challenges, often requiring the handling of up to 50 pounds or more.
- Skill in managing fine motor tasks, such as helping students with writing, manipulating small objects, or using adaptive devices.
- Ability to operate a computer or tablet for up to 8 hours daily.
- Capacity to remain calm and composed during physically and emotionally demanding situations, ensuring student safety and well-being
