Position Overview

We are currently seeking a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our dynamic team at E‑Therapy. The successful candidate will play a vital role in providing occupational therapy services to students in PreK‑12 schools, supporting their participation in meaningful activities and promoting independence in daily life skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in conducting assessments of students’ fine motor skills, sensory processing, visual‑motor integration, and activities of daily living.
  • Implement individualized occupational therapy interventions and treatment plans under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist (OT).
  • Provide direct therapy services to students individually and in groups, targeting areas such as handwriting, motor coordination, self‑care skills, and sensory regulation.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other members of the educational team to integrate therapy goals into students’ educational plans and classroom activities.
  • Monitor students’ progress and document therapy sessions, progress reports, and other relevant information accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Assist in the selection and fabrication of adaptive equipment and assistive technology to support students’ participation and independence.
  • Support the OT in educating school staff, parents, and caregivers on strategies and techniques to promote students’ occupational performance and functional skills.
  • Participate in IEP (Individualized Education Program) meetings and provide input regarding students’ occupational therapy needs.
Qualifications
  • Associate’s degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) from an accredited program.
  • Valid state licensure or certification as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA).
  • Previous experience working as a COTA in a pediatric or school setting.
  • Knowledge of occupational therapy principles, theories, and interventions relevant to children and adolescents.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with students, parents, school staff, and related service providers.
  • Strong problem‑solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in documentation and record‑keeping.
