6-Month Contract (Full Time)
Rate: £35 per hour (Umbrella or Limited Company)
IR35:
Outside IR35 (subject to review, potentially until April - new financial year)
Hours:
40+ hours per week
Location:
Onsite - Bembridge, Isle of Wight
Travel Allowance: £10 per day contribution
Transport:
Transportation provided to and from site from Ryde (Portsmouth to Ryde 7.15am ferry)
The role will focus on defining, maintaining, and improving manufacturing processes across the full aircraft build lifecycle, with a strong emphasis on metallic structures and components, from sub-assemblies through to final completion.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and maintain manufacturing processes for aircraft production, with a strong focus on metallic structures and components.
Create and manage multi-level Bills of Materials (BoMs) for sub-assemblies, major assemblies, and final build stages.
Provide manufacturing input to design activities, ensuring alignment with approved CAD and CNC data.
Support make or buy decisions based on internal manufacturing capability.
Deliver technical support to production teams and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Identify and implement improvements to tooling, jigs, fixtures, and assembly methods.
Program 3-axis CNC machines, lathes, and routers using ALPHACAM.
Ensure compliance with health, safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
Engineering Apprenticeship or equivalent qualification.
Minimum 5 years' experience in a manufacturing or production engineering environment.
Strong hands-on experience working with metallic structures and components (e.g. aluminium alloys, steel, aerospace-grade metals).
Experience with in a highly regulated industry (aerospace preferred).
Demonstrable experience in CNC programming, ideally using Alphacam, for metallic machining.
Solid understanding of metallic manufacturing processes, including machining, fabrication, drilling, fastening, and assembly
