This position performs delegated nursing interventions to stable dialysis patients under direct supervision of the registered nurse. Responsibilities include initiation of dialysis, monitoring patient during treatments, discontinuing treatments, operating dialysis equipment, gathering and documenting pertinent patient information, and responding to alarms. No experience is required; thorough on‑the‑job training will be provided.

Qualifications
  • High school graduate or GED required.
  • One‑year experience in a health care environment preferred; dialysis experience preferred.
  • Must obtain certification as a Hemodialysis Technician from a recognized agency within 18 months of hire.
  • If working in North Dakota, must be on the Unlicensed Assistive Personnel (UAP) Registry through the Board of Nursing at the time employment begins.
  • If working in South Dakota, must register as Unlicensed Dialysis Technician through the SD Board of Nursing once certification is received (within 18 months).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) required through the American Heart.
