Overview

APP - Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner | Family Medicine

Location: Bemidji, MN

Facility: Bemidji Main Clinic

Shift: 8 Hours - Day Shifts

Job Schedule: Full time

Responsibilities
  • Provide advanced nursing care to patients of all ages, from infants to older adults.
  • Assess, diagnose, treat, and manage acute and chronic illnesses.
  • Conduct comprehensive physical exams and health assessments.
  • Obtain and interpret patient histories and diagnostic tests.
  • Prescribe medications and therapeutic treatments within the scope of practice.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans.
  • Provide health education and counseling on disease prevention and healthy lifestyle choices.
  • Manage follow-up care and coordinate referrals to specialists when needed.
  • Perform minor procedures as appropriate (e.g., wound care, suturing).
  • Document patient care accurately in the electronic health record system.
  • Participate in quality improvement and practice initiatives.
  • Collaborate effectively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare team members.
  • Maintain current knowledge of evidence-based practice guidelines.
Qualifications
  • Master’s or Doctorate degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse and Nurse Practitioner in each state of practice.
  • Current Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) permit to prescribe controlled substances in each state of practice.
  • State Controlled Substance License (if required by State).
  • National board certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-C or FNP-BC).
  • Obtains and maintains required competencies and certifications as outlined on privilege form.
  • Privileging documents and related credentialing requirements will supersede this job description where variation exists.

Compensation

Compensation details:
Annual compensation range (based on 1.0 FTE): $91,000-$128,291. Actual offers vary based on education, training, certification, experience, scope of practice, and job requirements.
