- Lead, train, supervise, and mentor current and new CNA‑HST employees to enhance resident services.
- Administer medications and/or treatments as prescribed to residents as requested.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to care plans for residents.
- Measure targeted goals for residents, households, and individualized projects; analyze data to assess interventions.
- Assist in developing and implementing an educational curriculum for staff.
- Current registration as a Nursing Assistant with the Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) Nursing Assistant Registry.
- Certified as a Trained Medication Aide (TMA).
- One year of experience as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) and/or Human Services Technician (HST) or providing direct care for others.
- Human relations, communications, and leadership skills sufficient to lead, guide, and educate others.
- Knowledge of at least two of the following areas: dementia, restorative care, patient care planning for hospice and palliative care, aging/geriatric services.
- Two or more years of experience as a CNA/HST in a skilled nursing facility.
- Knowledge of three or more of the same care areas listed above.
- Knowledge of state and federal regulations guiding skilled nursing facility/nursing home operations.
- Experience working with Veterans.
- Experience as a lead worker or mentor to others.
- Current certification in CPR and/or BLS through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross.
- A Minnesota Department of Human Services (DHS) background check may be conducted on the top finalist(s). When conducted, a finalist must pass the DHS background check.
- A Tuberculosis (Mantoux) screening or chest x‑ray is required prior to employment.
