Salary Range: $18.50 - $29.00

Enforces policies and procedures with all patients/residents, visitors and staff. Patrols and secures facility buildings and grounds as assigned. Monitors conduct of visitors on premises and confronts unauthorized persons for questioning. Reports safety, fire hazards or security violations. Responds to all requests for assistance from employees, patients/residents and visitors. Assists with any and all situation; i.e., problem‑solving with positive outcomes. May escort personnel to and from parking areas as requested.

Maintains records and prepares incident reports and other documents pertinent to security activities. Ability to work with all age groups. Must be able to prioritize calls for service in order of urgency based on safety needs. Security officers are expected to work in highly stressful situations and de‑escalate as soon as possible. All security officers are required to maintain awareness of local laws that affect the conduct of individuals on private property.

The necessary skills involve communicating effectively with all customers, writing professional reports, and demonstrating the physical ability to perform basic security officer functions as trained. This position may have access to areas where medications are stored to perform specific job‑related functions.

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred. College or vocational education is preferred.
• Prior experience in healthcare security, contract security and/or law enforcement is highly preferred.
• May require a current valid driver's license with Sanford insurability dependent upon region.
• Basic certification by International Association for Healthcare Security and Safety preferred within one year of hire.
