We’re seeking a skilled and dependable Heavy-Duty Truck & Trailer Mechanic to join our Bemidji service team. In this role, you’ll perform inspections, maintenance, and repairs on light, medium, and heavy-duty trucks and trailers to ensure they operate safely and efficiently. The ideal candidate has solid mechanical experience, takes pride in quality work, and enjoys being part of a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.
Key Responsibilities- Diagnose and repair heavy-duty truck and trailer systems, including brakes, suspensions, drive trains, electrical, and air systems.
- Perform truck and trailer alignments
- Perform preventative maintenance and DOT inspections.
- Assist tire service team as needed.
- Document repairs and maintain accurate service records.
- Operate diagnostic tools and follow all safety procedures.
- Communicate effectively with the service team and customers to ensure timely and accurate repairs.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
- 2+ years of experience in heavy-duty truck and/or trailer repair (will consider experienced automotive techs looking to advance).
- Strong mechanical aptitude and diagnostic skills.
- Familiarity with hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Valid driver’s license (CDL preferred but not required).
- Own basic set of tools (some specialty tools provided).
- Experience with DOT inspections and fleet maintenance programs.
- Minor welding and fabrication experience.
- ASE or other industry certifications (a plus but not required).
