Overview

Youth Advocate Part-Time (8
-40 hours/week) for the Shelter. This position includes conducting intakes and responding to youth needs, and counselor responses to youth journal entries. • Individual and telephone counseling.
• Provide case management.
• Promote insight through interactive journaling.
• Develop and maintain up-to-date client files and program records.
• Provide transition plans, discharge processing and other documentation for clients.
• Assist with data gathering activities as required by funding sources and the agency.
• Provide written behavioral observations and other individual client assessments or summaries as requested by supervisor and community service providers.
• Prepare client friendly suppers for the following evening.
• Perform household duties related to operating a residential program.
• Participate in agency and program staff meetings, retreats and other agency related functions whenever possible.
• Work collaboratively with other community youth and family service providers.
• Conduct activities related to compliance with federal and state laws related to mandated reporting, DHS licensing and the Data Privacy Act.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
