Guest Advocate (Cashier), General Merchandise, Fulfillment, Food and Beverage, Style (T0766) s role is On-Demand; you can work as much or as little as you like with a flexible schedule based on shift availability and store needs.

All About On Demand

As an On-Demand Team Member (TM), you are not included on the posted weekly schedule. You may create your own schedule by picking up shifts posted by leaders or other team members (via the myTime mobile scheduling app). Shifts must be picked up and worked as scheduled, and attendance is required. You must respond to contact attempts to confirm interest in shifts.

If you do not respond, your employment may be terminated. If you do not work at least one shift within 5 months, your employment may be administratively terminated. A Welcome orientation and a short-term structured training schedule are required. After training, use the myTime app to pick the shifts you desire.

All About Service & Engagement

Advocates of guest experience who welcome, thank, and exceed guest service expectations by focusing on guest interaction, loyalty enrollment and store cleanliness. Knowledgeable about in-store and digital services and solutions to drive adoption and loyalty. Able to make shopping quick and easy for guests at checklanes, guest services, gift registry, pick-up and drive up, while ensuring quality.

As a Guest Advocate, you will develop skills such as:

  • Communicating and interacting with guests to build an inclusive guest experience
  • Problem solving and decision making to resolve guest concerns
  • Adapting to different guest interactions and situations
  • Promoting and explaining benefits, offerings and services
Typical Responsibilities
  • Deliver the guest service experience by following the service standard
  • Greet guests as you complete daily tasks
  • Assist guests and solve their needs in a welcoming manner
  • Be knowledgeable about tools, products, and services to resolve issues and improve the guest experience
  • Thank guests and acknowledge their visit to Target
  • Scan and bag items efficiently and in alignment with food safety standards and policies
  • Minimize guest wait time while maintaining service and accuracy
  • Inform guests about current and upcoming brand launches, store activities, and events
  • Explain and assist with Target Loyalty programs and enrollment; direct guests to fulfill, activate, or use fulfillment services
  • Demonstrate how to use Target Wallet and app features
  • Assist with returns following policy and involving leaders when needed
  • De-escalate situations and recover guest shopping experiences per policy
  • Provide easy and accurate OPU, Drive Up, and Registry support
  • Maintain a clean, organized workspace and stock supplies as needed
  • Support safety, ethics and compliance in all tasks
  • Operate safely and report hazards
  • Support guest services such as order pick up, Drive-Up orders and related duties with compliance, including adult beverage laws where applicable
  • Assist with cash office processes as needed
  • Other duties as required by business needs
