Physician Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation

Position:
Physician – Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation rles Health System (Bend, OR).

• Full-time, 1.0 FTE.
• Work schedule:
  
  approximately 32 patient‑facing hours per week in clinic, with some procedures at the Cascade Surgi Center ambulatory surgery center.
• Primary clinic location:
  Bend; additional outreach clinic work may be required.
• Call expectations: possible shared clinic call with other Physiatrists.

• Examines, diagnoses, and provides a broad scope of care with some procedural interventions.
• Performs patient examinations, obtains and records pertinent medical history, subjective and objective findings.
• Orders and interprets appropriate laboratory, imaging, and other diagnostic procedures.
• Integrates data to determine diagnosis and therapeutic plan.
• Administers and prescribes medications in compliance with state law and practice guidelines.
• Performs appropriate medical and surgical procedures in accordance with state law and practice guidelines.
• Instructs patients and families regarding medications and treatments.
• Educates patients about health, illness prevention, and healing; recommends community resources.
• Mentions patient records, documentation, and triages telephone calls for consultation.
• Communicates effectively with colleagues, patients, physicians, and administration; engages in professional growth.
• May perform additional duties of similar complexity as required.

• Documents all patient care within the Electronic Medical Record and completes all necessary billing tasks.
• Familiar with SC Health System organization structure.
• Participates in SCMG physician meetings and assists in policy formation.
• Maintains current CME activity to meet board certification and MSO rules; holds adequate CME for continuing privileges without restriction.
• Keeps all licenses and certifications current and unrestricted.
• Maintains active privileges rles Health System hospitals sufficient to perform duties.

• Graduated from an accredited medical school.
• Completed an accredited residency program in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.
• Completed additional educational programs necessary to acquire and maintain privileges for the full range of services; includes board eligibility/certification in the specialty.

• Oregon medical license (MD/DO).
• Board certified or eligible in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation; must be certified or qualify within seven years of residency or fellowship.
• Current ATLS certification required.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to meet SCHS driving requirements.
• Unrestricted DEA number.
• Unrestricted ability to participate in Medicare, Medicaid, and other federal/state health care programs.

• Experience in hospital and outpatient practice environments providing care in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.
