Central Oregon Pediatric Associates (COPA) has been caring for kids and families in Central Oregon for over 50 years, building lifelong relationships and helping children thrive from newborns to teens. - Work with the COPA care team to consistently and equitably provide the highest level of pediatric primary care to all patients, inclusive of all races, ethnicities, gender identities, sexual orientations, socioeconomic backgrounds, cultures, national origin, religious beliefs, and disability status
- Collaborate with the COPA care team to provide full-spectrum pediatric panel management, including well-child care, chronic disease management, immunizations, screening and follow up, risk assessment and proactive management, along with yearly pediatric quality metrics
- Interact with diverse families in a welcoming manner with a warm, engaging bedside presence
- Perform skilled history taking from birth through teen years with ability to adapt as the patient grows
- Conduct indicated physical exams appropriate to patient age to facilitate work up, diagnosis, and management
- Use best practice guidelines to screen, monitor, and track developmental and behavioral health milestones with appropriate interventions and follow-up
- Reach an informed diagnosis based on scientific knowledge and medical history; utilize supervising physician for questions as needed
- Prescribe medications as appropriate and provide detailed administration instructions in accordance with state law and practice guidelines
- Order and interpret relevant labs to determine management; communicate results and follow-up plan clearly with family/patient
- Follow up with patients and caregivers as necessary after examinations
- Educate caregivers on pediatric anticipatory guidance topics per American Academy of Pediatrics guidelines (nutrition, immunizations, diet, fitness, safety, sleep, disease prevention, etc.)
- Collaborate with Care Coordinators and Community Health Workers to connect families with community resources
- Maintain and review patient records, charts, and other pertinent information with clear documentation
- Provide comprehensive care for newborns in the nursery on the day of discharge to facilitate transition to outpatient care
- Work with APPs and MDs to rotate coverage for evening and weekend access
- Primary location of shifts in Redmond, with rotation through East Bend clinic as needed for patient access
