Human Development & Family Sciences role at Oregon State University.
The Human Development & Family Sciences Program at OSU-Cascades in Bend, Oregon invites applications for one or more fixed-term, non-tenure-track instructor positions to teach on a term-by-term basis for the academic year. Some appointments may be reviewed for renewal or transition to an instructional position at the discretion of the Dean of Academic Affairs. Applications will be considered throughout the 2025/2026 academic year as opportunities become available.
The position is located in Bend, Oregon. The pool is to collect applications for current or future opportunities and does not necessarily imply a position is available at this time.
- 95% – Administer and teach course(s) term-by-term in one or more of these disciplines:
Psychology, Early Childhood, Human Development & Family Science (HDFS). - Complete course assessment processes and continuously improve teaching effectiveness.
- 5% – Participate in advising and mentoring students: advise students, be available for office hours, complete record-keeping and minor administrative tasks.
- Master’s degree or higher in Human Development & Family Studies, Psychology, Sociology, Early Childhood Education, Gerontology, or closely related discipline appropriate to the teaching tasks.
- OR Master’s degree in any field and at least 2 years of relevant professional experience in family- or child-serving organizations, including roles involving program coordination, community engagement, training, or education.
- This position is designated as a critical or security-sensitive position; therefore, a criminal history check will be required and applicants must meet University standards.
- PhD or terminal degree in one of the listed fields or a related field.
- Teaching experience at the college or university level, a strong commitment to undergraduate education and equity, service to students.
Work schedule may vary depending upon student needs and engagement in campus and/or program activities.
